The 16th Annual Rock & Read is Friday December 6th, from 5 PM- 10 PM. It is a reading marathon and fundraiser that takes place at Barnes & Noble at Bucknell University, The Blooming Rooster Floral Events and Gifts and….CAMPUS THEATRE during Downtown Lewisburg’s Late-Night Shoppers event.
Readers sign up for a minimum of 15-minute slots and read their favorite books to shoppers who are passing by. Readers will sit in store windows and read into microphones which is then piped into the street.
Some readers come in costumes, some sing or perform, some go out into the streets and interact, some people even wander in from the streets to read.
Readers are asked to raise $4 per minute of reading.
Donors can also sponsor a child to read if they would like ($60 for 15 minutes)!
