Yoga Class Description
Therapeutic Yoga 1:
A yoga class for those who prefer or require the support of a chair without the stress of ge4ng up and down from the floor, such as active older adults, individuals rehabilitating from a surgery or those recuperating from an injury and have been cleared for exercise by their doctor. The physical practice focus is on developing small and large muscle groups, stretching, balancing and strength building. Additional practices include breathwork (Pranayama) and brief meditation. Chair yoga classes are a great place to start for the new Yogi to help maintain mobility, improve flexibility, cultivate mindfulness and increase body awareness. (All levels, 60 minutes).
Lunch Break Meditations
The research shows that relaxation exercises done at lunch lower levels of stress, strain and fatigue, while experiencing higher levels of well-being at the end of your working day. Gain clarity of mind and leave feeling rested, relaxed and ready for whatever the afternoon has in store for you! (All levels, 30 minutes, Donation based).
Functional Fitness
Functional Fitness is a customized group exercise class in a supportive social environment! Improve your physical, mental and emotional health as you engage in smooth rhythmic movements to increase the deep strengthening of all the “systems” of the body. A “Cardio” class designed for active older adults and anyone getting back into or new to exercise classes. A chair and optional tools (weights, rubber bands and balls) are used to create support and resistance in a fun and energetic class to improve physical and mental fitness, activities of daily living (ADL’s) and quality of life. (All levels, 60 minutes).
